As a returning Page Scholar, Tre’Vonte James can attest to immeasurable benefits of giving back to your community. While studying business at the University of Saint Thomas, Tre’Vonte made time to volunteer at the Sun Ray Library in St. Paul. By being patient, positive and supportive, Tre’Vonte was able to become an effective tutor and a powerful mentor for children who visited the library’s Sunspot Homework Center. He is excited to continue his work with the program and especially enjoys the challenge of working with non-native English speakers. "It was definitely a great experience and it helped me to understand the impact that you can make on your community by giving back and inspiring children to become future leaders."
