The Page Foundation Lending Library

The Page Education Foundation recently completed a pilot program called, Begin with a Book, which entailed a simple concept; Page Scholars began their service project, by reading an age appropriate, culturally appropriate book. Given the pilot’s success and the dire need for a precise focus upon literacy education for Minnesota youth we intend to expand the concept of this program to all Page Scholars by providing them each a book from a Page Foundation lending library to both read and donate to their service projects.

By utilizing our innovative mentoring structure, which entices students of color to become positive role-models for their communities, and channeling that dynamic to cultivate early childhood literacy skills, the new focus on literacy will address a vital need for an undeserved community by employing a powerful method unique to the Page Foundation.

A $10 donation to the Page Foundation Campaign on Groupon will buy 4 new children’s books for the Foundation’s new lending library and provide support for our new initiative.
