Service-to-Children Project: Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota Volunteer

Bonzo Black has a clear vision for his future – he wants to work at a large corporation providing IT-network security. Financial assistance from the Page Education Foundation has helped him go to college, the service requirement is changing his life. “My service project is one of the best projects I ever could have done in a lifetime.  With this service, I took on a highly responsible role.  Students look up to me as a college student and ask me millions of questions about how that is for me.  After completing 50 hours of service, I couldn’t stop doing what I was so good at.  When I finished, I had given over 64 hours of my time and felt that I influenced children to do a good job in school so that they can be successful when they graduate.  As I gained some new younger friends, they gained stronger self-esteem to move forward in life.”
