Marlen Mendoza Riveros wants to be a school social worker. As a high school student, she didn’t believe she could go to college. Thanks to the Page Education Foundation and other caring staff in her school, she is in college. She hopes to build a career that allows her to help others pursue their dreams. Through her service project, she already knows she is making a difference, “My service let me to show children how to value education, prepare them to love school and to learn as much as they possibly can. I was there as their role model, to show them how to behave in school or in the hallways. They looked up to me and they did almost everything I did when I was in class with them. I just want to make a difference in their lives like the Page Education Foundation made a difference in mine by giving me this opportunity to volunteer and continue my education.”
