Page, Minnesota’s first African-American Supreme Court Justice, was elected to the court in 1992.  He was re-elected in 1998, 2004, 2010, and recently retired in 2015 after serving for 22 years.  Justice Page is widely renowned for his former career as a professional football player.  Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988, he is best known for his defensive efforts with the Minnesota Vikings in the 1970s. Justice Page, who attended law school at the University of Minnesota during the height of his football career, is an ardent defender of equal education for children.  He is the founder of the Page Education Foundation, which assists students of color with post‑secondary education. R.T. Rybak served as mayor of Minneapolis from 2002 – 2013. During his tenure as mayor, Rybak led efforts in economic development, affordable housing, transportation, and youth violence prevention. When he left office, Minneapolis had restored its AAA bond rating, had the lowest unemployment in the country, and had put 20,000 young people through the STEP-UP summer jobs program, a program he founded.  R.T. Rybak currently serves as the Executive Director of Generation Next, a coalition of civic, business, and school leaders focused on closing the racial achievement gap in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.  Rybak also serves as a Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee and as a Senior Advisor for Municipal Practice at Living Cities.
